Movie Night Polls

Pro feature

Polls that open and close on schedule

Set a launch time, a close time, or both. Your poll opens for voting and closes with the winner all on its own — so you're not refreshing the page at 8pm to wrap things up.

Scheduling is a Pro feature. Free accounts open and close polls manually whenever they like.

  • Pick a time, walk away

When you build a poll, set an optional launch time and an optional close time. The poll flips itself from draft to open and from open to closed at exactly those moments — no reminder, no manual step, no being at your desk.

  • A live countdown for voters

Anyone who opens an unstarted or open poll sees a countdown — 'Opens in 3h' or 'Closes in 42m'. It creates a real deadline, which is the single best way to get people to actually vote before movie night instead of after.

  • The winner is declared for you

At the close time the poll tallies itself and crowns the winner — co-winners on a tie — then fires the close notifications. You wake up (or finish dinner) to a decided movie night, no spreadsheet, no math.

FAQ

Do I have to be online when the poll closes?
No — that's the point. The poll opens and closes on its own at the times you set, whether or not you're at your computer.
How precise is the timing?
Transitions happen within about a minute of the scheduled time. It's built for movie-night planning, not split-second cutoffs.
What happens if there's a tie at the close time?
All tied movies are crowned as co-winners automatically. You can always reopen the poll if you'd rather break the tie yourself.
Can I schedule just the close time and open the poll now?
Yes. Launch and close times are independent — set either, both, or neither.
Is scheduling free?
Scheduling is part of Pro. On the free plan you open and close polls manually.
